I used to say that I didn’t like Asian (mostly Chinese) female singers because they had weak voices. To be accurate, I used to say, “I don’t like weak Asian female voices.” They annoyed me to no end. They were squeaky and disturbing. Not all Asian female singers have weak voices though. I appreciated the strength of Coco Lee’s voice.

Back in the day, I might not have liked the songs in K-On!, but my new fondness for anime and acceptance of Jpop have changed me. Moreover, I actually like Miochan (Hikasa Yoko)’s voice. It’s really nice. And soothing. Maybe it’s in comparison to the other character, but still. I like it and I wouldn’t think that I would. *shrug*

Manga/Anime

Started watching anime. Started reading manga. Now reading comics from right to left. It’s disorienting.

I’ve noticed that a lot of the manga characters all look the same. Seriously similar. With similar personalities. It’s like they all continue off of each other in some way or another.

In at least three, there is that tall girl with bangs and long black hair. People really admire her, but they are intimidated by her. She gives off a cool vibe, but she really loves cute things.

There’s also the foreigner, the rich kid with a summer house by the beach, and the really young/short character who looks super cute.

… I’ve been reading and watching a lot of uselessness.

I questioned my sanity when I started downloading songs with titles like “My Love is a Stapler”. Don’t judge me. It’s a good song.

Another thing I’ve noticed is this insane emphasis on cuteness. I guess it’s to be expected from the land of Hello Kitty.

I want to do those squiggly motions like the anime characters do. Seems like such animated fun.
